Canada’s largest culinary tourism and locavore retail company is undoubtedly Edible Canada. “Sightseeing for your taste buds”, Edible Canada is dedicated to sourcing the highest quality culinary products from coast to coast for their loyal customers. Formerly called Edible British Columbia, Edible Canada is a six year-old business headquartered at Vancouver’s famous Granville Island Public Market. A few months ago, they opened the vibrant Edible Canada at the Market bistro, and the company also includes chef guided Granville Island Market Tours, demonstration guest chef Market Dinners, Gourmet Kayaking Weekends, and a retail & online artisan food store.
Some of our favourite local products that Edible Canada sells are Kitchening With Carly all-natural macarons! Arguably the best French macarons in the city, you can purchase a variety box of twelve for twenty-four dollars.
Included in this Kitchening With Carly 12 piece assorted package is the Natural Almond Macaron with Rosemary Salted Caramel and Vanilla Cream, Pistachio Macaron with Pistachio Butter Cream, Vanilla Bean Macaron with Lavender Butter Cream, Raspberry Macaron with Lemon Cream, Toasted Coconut Macaron with Coconut Cream, Chai Macaron with Cardamom Butter Cream, and Espresso Macaron with Dark Chocolate Ganache.
Along with the aromatic Vanilla Bean Macaron with Lavender Butter Cream, the Salted Caramel and Vanilla Cream was my favourite out of the pack – a beautiful balance and salty and sweet, with a light butteriness of the caramel. Check out Edible Canada the next time you’re in the mood for local fare, including Parisian macarons made right in Vancouver!
