Located on Courtney Street in downtown Victoria, BC, Spiced Water is one of the city’s newest and best coffee shops and tea houses.
While staying at the Chateau Victoria Hotel, we were intrigued by the stand-alone coffee shop and decided to stop by. As soon as we walked through the door of this little gem, Spiced Water’s owners were keen on providing us and all their customers with a fantastic experience. They informed us of what the shop offers and their specials of the day. Spiced Water serves coffee from a selection of local craft roasters, loose tea, and maccha (flown in every month from Harimaen in Uji Japan) from JagaSilk, their sister company. Their featured specialty coffees are roasted by 2% Jazz, Vancouver’s 49th Parallel, Discovery Coffee, and Fernwood Coffee.
House made treats are offered including the excellent organic baked goods that we tried. The delicious shredded coconut & banana is next to the moist carrot & masala chai spiced muffin.
We requested cream and sugar in our Americanos, so the barista put them in the cup first and then brewed the espresso over top so we would still see the gorgeous crema.
Sustainability is important at Spiced Water, right down to their eco-friendly paper cups.
Not only did we marvel in the delicious organic baked goods and perfectly made Americanos, but we were also impressed by the baristas’ passion for coffee. Vancouver Island coffee and tea aficionados take note – these are the most attentive and informative coffee aficionados we’ve met in the industry.
