White Spot Victoria International Airport (YYJ) Review

Founded by hustling visionary, Nat Bailey, White Sport calls itself the most enduring, and most successful restaurant chain in North America. Now that’s a bold claim! But White Spot has certainly established itself as a British Columbia legend. Therefore, it’s quite fitting they set up shop in the Victoria International Airport.

Popular for all ages, White Spot’s generally a restaurant chain that you can count on. So we stopped by for dinner with our family and the four of us ordered White Sport’s award-winning burger platters and famous sandwiches. All are served with creamy cabbage coleslaw and ‘endless’ signature fries.

The White Spot Club – This double decker sandwich has three slices of toasted white bread, spread with mayo and the restaurant’s special chili sauce, and topped with turkey breast, smoky bacon, lettuce, and tomato.

B.C. Chicken Burger – Fresh chargrilled British Columbia chicken breast topped with a slice of ooey-gooey melted cheddar cheese, strips of crisp bacon, green leaf lettuce, two slices of juicy red tomato, thinly sliced sweet red onion, and finished off with their famous Triple “O” sauce. In lieu of plain French fries, we opted for the Baked Potato Inspired Poutine – White Spot’s signature fries with squeaky cheese curds and thick brown gravy loaded with classic baked potato toppings, including crispy bacon pieces, dollop of sour cream and chopped green onions.

Another B.C. Chicken Burger, this time we substituted fries for Spot’s Zoo Sticks – Fresh breaded zucchini pieces with creamy Zoo dip.

The Legendary – Their traditional quarter-pound, 100% fresh Canadian beef burger with their signature Triple “O” sauce. When you make it a 6 oz. bigger burger, it comes with lettuce and tomato. We chose to substitute Sweet Potato Fries – Cajun seasoned and served with chipotle mayo for dipping.

We were surprised to discover White Spot at YYJ’s low rating on Urbanspoon because we all really enjoyed our meals. Tasty burgers and great sides – what more could you want? Sure, you have to pay for parking, but the restaurant will kindly reimburse you for the very reasonable one dollar fee. Also, they offer free wifi in case you need to get some work done before you next flight.
