In-N-Out Burger Review (Mesa, Arizona)

We’ve visited a few In-N-Out Burger locations in Arizona and reviewed a few (here and here). What we’ve discovered is that this popular fast food chain is very consistent. Service is always superb, food is dependable, and the restaurants are bright, shiny, welcoming spaces. The location on Signal Butte Road in Mesa is an excellent burger joint so it’s always packed with customers. We ended up sitting outside in over 100′F heat…it wasn’t that bad in the shade!

Off their “Secret Menu”, we opted for the Animal Style Fries which comes topped with a heart-stopping mass of melted cheese, grilled onions, and a generous ladle of In-N-Out “spread”. The spread sauce is made from their own recipe unchanged since 1948 – it’s essentially Thousand Island dressing.

Double Double – Two beef patties cooked to order, two cheese slices, freshly sliced thick cut onion, fresh, crisp, hand-leafed lettuce all on a toasted bun.

Cheeseburger – One beef patty also made-to-order, one cheese slice, thick freshly sliced thick cut of onion, crisp, hand-leafed lettuce all on a toasted bun.

In-N-Out is certainly a step up from McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, etc. but my favorite burger joint in the USA is the East Coast’s Shake Shack! How ’bout you?
