No trip to Seattle (made so easily, thanks to our NEXUS passes) is fully complete without a stop at the Seattle Premium Outlets in Marysville. And when one gets hungry from all the shopping, what does one do? Eat at a Carl’s Jr. of course! Since we don’t have Carl’s Jr in Vancouver (or anywhere else in Canada for that matter), and there’s always such hype surrounding this fast-food chain, we just had to try one.
If you’ve never had Carl’s Jr. before, you probably at least have seen their TV commercials: Paris Hilton starred in one crawling over a Bentley, and then ads with former The Hills star Audrina Patridge, and even Kim Kardashian soon followed.
Considering this was our first taste of Carl’s Jr. we felt obliged to order the classic Original Six Dollar Burger with fries and a Coke. Charbroiled 100% Black Angus beef patty, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, two slices of tomato, sliced red onions, pickles, mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup on a toasted sesame seed bun. The description claims the cheese is melted, however ours was not, and the bun was slightly dry. However, it is definitely a step up in quality from McDonald’s and Burger King. And they do use 100% beef patties – where some fast-food chains have beef with added fillers (eww). Customer service at this Marysville location was excellent, but we always experience superior customer service every time we cross the Peace Arch border! Overall, this Carl’s Jr. location is a great spot when you’re craving fast-food burgers and fries.
