Cactus Club (Broadway & Granville) Review

The Cactus Club stepped up their game when Iron Chef, Rob Feenie signed on as their “Food Concept Architect”.

I admire his ambition to use as many locally sourced products as possible. It’s better for the environment, supports the local economy and is more nutritious, since produce is picked later.

We stopped by the Cactus Club at their Broadway and Granville location since it was right beside the optometrist office we were just at. We’ve been to this location a few times, so I thought it was time to review it!

The burger included aged cheddar cheese, cured bacon, sautéed mushrooms, and red pepper relish. You can never go wrong with the burger and fries at a Cactus Club. I’ve honestly never been to one that I didn’t have great food and good service. Sure, the prices aren’t cheap, but the consistency keeps me coming back for more.  The fries are always piping hot and crispy. The burger is always splendidly seasoned, loaded with toppings and cooked to perfection.

The seasonal greens included grape tomatoes, roasted almonds, feta, seasonal berries, with lemon-thyme vinaigrette.  I added grilled salmon to round off my meal. The salmon was cooked flawlessly, as it was moist but not soggy. The salad was incredibly fresh and had the appropriate amount of dressing. (Don’t you hate it when you receive a drenched salad?!)

After a long day, I thought I deserved a drink! So I opted for their “perfect margarita” – fresh squeezed lime juice, triple sec and tequila, served old school on the rocks.  It definitely was perfect! Such a balanced combination of sweet, sour, and salt.

Overall, it’s a great place for a quick bite after work or to meet friends at a really central location. But when are they going to hire male waiters?!
