The Belvedere Ice Room is Canada’s first permanent vodka ice tasting room at Whistler’s Bearfoot Bistro. While we were waiting for our Ice Room experience, we sat at the bar and were served complimentary birthday champagne. We sipped from stem-only champagne flutes which nestled snugly in the illuminated ice bar.
After lovely champagne, we stepped up to the frozen bar inside the glowing, blue arctic room and chose from a range of 50 premium vodkas from around the world. We each downed 4 shots of ice cold liquor in the coldest ice bar in the world (-25 to -30 degrees Celsius) with each bottle displayed in individual ice sculpted boxes.
A few stand out vodkas were:
Pinky Vodka “the world’s most beautiful vodka” is slightly sweet with a unique blush hue from hand blended with violets, rose petals, and other botanicals. A sexy bottle houses this pretty-in-pink vodka shade.
UK5 Organic Vodka “the world’s first organic vodka” is clean, dry, and smooth and entirely unfiltered. It boasts a unique honor of a Royal Warrant from His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. The 5th member of our crew couldn’t attend the festivities in Whistler because she now lives in the UK. What an appropriate drink to toast to her!
Belvedere IX 100 proof vodka from LVMH conglomerate with packaging and branding created by Andre Saraiva, Parisian graffiti artist/night life entrepreneur. Not only a funky bottle, this stuff is potent – with nine natural ingredients including ginger, ginseng, jasmine, and açaí. This was my favourite vodka of the evening because of its warm ginger sensation and fragrant aroma.
Looking oh-so chic in sub zero temperature, wearing warm Canada Goose down parkas and cozy fur lined winter hats 😉 We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Bearfoot Bistro, made even more memorable by our bartender and Ice Room king – they were both exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. Bearfoot Bistro’s Belvedere Ice Room is a Whistler experience not to be missed!
