Last year, we reviewed the delicious soup & sandwich bar and coffee bar at Whole Foods Market’s Cambie location. On this occasion, I decided to review the incredibly diverse offerings on their salad bar. Raw, vegan, vegetarian, and organic options galore! There are also more substantial and heartier dishes offered, like fried chicken, lasagna, baked sole, and mac & cheese. Whole Foods Market’s salad & hot food bar graciously offers dishes to satisfy all carnivores, pescetarians, vegetarians, and vegans.
Usually, salad bars kinda gross me out because who knows how many people have been sneezing and coughing on the food, or dropping the ladles on the floor! At the Whole Foods locations that I’ve visited in California, Washington State and here in Vancouver, they all always appear to keep their salad bars in tip-top shape.
I loaded up on a massive assortment of healthy options like kale salad with lemon dressing, assorted raw veggies, red cabbage salad, quinoa, olives, spinach and mushroom salad, edamame, grilled tofu, fruit salad, etc. You pay by weight, so watch out not to put a dent in your pocket if you have a heavy hand.
Feel like dessert? They also have a fabulous bakery: try their carrot cake, it is the best in Vancouver.
They provide plenty of table seating, comfy booths and even free wifi. Whole Foods is our go-to store here in Vancouver and in the Sates for all things natural, organic and most importantly, tasty!
