Crab Feast at PARKROYAL on Beach Road, Singapore

Do you live in Singapore, or are planning a trip to the tropical island-country in the next month? Then you’re going to want to make a reservation at Plaza Brasserie restaurant at PARKROYAL on Beach Road for their sumptuous Crab Feast!

We were fortunate to be invited to the exclusive Crab Feast media event (thanks to Elaine & Tom at Suma Lifestyle and PARKROYALS’s Karen Chang). We also had a chance to meet some wonderful Singapore food bloggers including Camemberu, Keropokman, Misstamchiak, Kopikosonggirl, TheHungryCow, and GourmetEstorie.

Besides Singapore’s popular Chilli Crab and Black Pepper Crab, we all savoured Chef Jackson’s new crab recipes including Nonya Curry Crab, Butter Crab, Stirred Fried Crab with Egg Yolk, XO Sauce Crab, Thai Green Curry Mud Crab in Sichuan Style and Stir-Fried Flower Crab with Spring Onions and Ginger.

The feast includes a smorgasbord of other hot and cold items including a range of appetizers: Dijon Crab Cakes with Coriander Paste, Baked Crab Shell, Chilli Crab Roll with Vegetables, Crab Meat Gyoza with Dip Sauce, Bread Crab Claw, Mini Crab Meat Samosas, Olive & Potato Crabmeat Balls with Pesto, Crabmeat Paste, Baked Whole Salmon with Spicy Dip and a variety of Dim Sum.

At the Noodles Section, we took pleasure in their selection of Crab Meat Le Mein with Miso Paste and Condiments, Braised Tang Hoon with Live Crabs, Vegetables and Crabmeat Tempura with sauces.

Their hot dish varieties include Braised Pork Ball with Preserved Vegetable and Taro, Oatmeal Prawns, Stir-fried Chicken in Honey and Sesame, Fried Baby Kai Lan and Crabmeat Fried Rice, Crispy Soft Shell Crabs and Braised Sea Cucumber with Roast Pork and Mushrooms. Some of the highlights for us were certainly the Durian Roti Prata, Laksa station, and of course, Hainanese Chicken Rice. This is one serious buffet that will do you in if you’re not prepared for it! We loved the roast BBQ pork and duck as well.

Since we have a sweet-tooth, we loved their excellent variety of delicious desserts ranging from Sweet Potato, Water Chestnut, Bubur Cha Cha, Mini French Pastries, Chocolate Truffle and Cheese Cake, Assorted Ice-Creams, Fresh Fruits, Almond Beancurd, Chin Chow, Rice Pudding with Vanilla Sauce, American Cheesecake, Chocolate Fondue served with Fresh Fruits, Dried Fruit and Marshmallows. The chocolate truffle cake is a PARKROYAL specialty and it didn’t disappoint. Light and airy, it just melted in our mouths with each and every bite.

Overall, we think this Crab Feast is a tremendous dinner buffet with a superb variety of items that are sure to satisfy! On top of the insane selection of crab, the vast selection of appetizers and mains will please all palates and diners. You won’t be disappointed.
