If you’re staying at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay, then just down the street at the Keauhou Shopping Center (same complex as L&L Hawaiian Barbecue) you’ll find some tasty and authentic Thai cuisine on the Big Island of Hawaii. That’s right - Thai food in Kona and it’s truly delicious! We visited a couple times during our stay on Hawaii Island - one take-out dinner and another dine-in. Both visits were superb.
Pad Thai ($12.95) - The “national dish of Thailand” - pan fried rice noodles with chicken, prawns, bean sprouts, garnished with carrot, red cabbage, peanuts, green onion, and cilantro. Scrumptious bursts of sweet tamarind flavor and a kick of spicy heat. Excellent.
Green Curry ($12.95) - Choice of pork, beef, chicken or seafood with bamboo shoots, broccoli, cabbage, bell peepers, mushrooms, sweet basil in coconut milk green curry. Wow this was awesome. Plenty of veggies in an aromatic curry. Perfection.
Yellow Curry ($12.95) - House special yellow curry chicken with coconut milk, carrots and potatoes. We couldn’t decide which curry we liked better because they were both so delicious.
