We first visited The Crab Pot Restaurant & Bar a few years ago (here) and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. So we suggested the seafood eatery to our family while we were down in Seattle on a weekend getaway.
A couple of the beverage highlights were the sweet and tangy Strawberry Lemonade ($4) and a large mug of beer on tap. It’s hard to tell from the photo above, but the beer was a whole liter ($7) and it was enormous!
Freshly baked bread was served before our meal, alongside melted butter and lemon wedges for our crab.
The Crab Pot’s an interactive dining experience (and a great place for kids) because everyone puts on a bib and is given individual wooden mallets and boards to whack the crab shells open. It’s so much fun!
The server pours the seafood dishes onto the table on butcher paper from large metal bowls and everyone digs-in and gets messy!
Our family ordered a few servings of Crab Crab Crab ($36.95) – Snow crab, dungeness crab and king crab steamed in The Crab Pot’s special spices and served with red potatoes and sweet corn on the cob.
Since we had dined here before, we knew exactly what we wanted – all king crab. We weren’t going to bother with shrimp like our previous visit, or the time consuming process of digging meat out of the snow or dungeness shells. We wanted sweet and succulent flesh, so we ordered two servings of King Crab Legs ($39.95) – One and a half pounds per order and they were also served with corn and red potatoes. Dipped in melted butter with a squeeze of lemon, the crab was true perfection.
Seafood Linguini was also ordered and served with a grilled wild salmon skewer, steamed clams and mussels, and shrimp in a zesty tomato sauce.
Mud Pie ($7.95) – A delicious concoction consisting of chocolate crumb crust with mocha ice cream, topped with toasted almonds, fudge sauce and whipped cream. Great for sharing as this was a huge dessert portion.
Overall, The Crab Pot is an awesome place for seafood lovers – good service, large portions, and great food. We can’t wait to return! FYI: There’s another Crab Pot location in Bellevue that we heard was equally as good.
