This could very well be our first Port Coquitlam food review. We don’t venture out to these parts very often, but were in the area and needed a quick lunch. We noticed the sign for PoCo Donair and thought - hey, why not?!
Located in a strip mall on the corner of Pairie Avenue and Coast Meridian Road, PoCo Donair is a very casual, spartan little Middle Eastern shop with a few tables to dine-in. The menu consists of standard donair wraps, shawarma plates, Greek salad, tabouli, etc. Portion sizes are sufficient, especially for the reasonable prices: chicken, lamb, and beef donairs are all around five dollars each, while we opted for a chicken plate (salad, hummus, pita, chicken, rice) for approximately seven dollars.
The owner was very friendly and took care when preparing our meal. The food’s decent, but don’t expect much at PoCo Donair in terms of a grand culinary adventure. It is what it is — a little donair-dive!
