Where can you go for mammoth-sized burritos, perfectly crafted ripe and creamy guacamole, and ‘healthy-ish-fast-food’ burrito salad bowls? Chipotle of course! Since we don’t have a location in Vancouver, yet (one is coming soon, according to their official Twitter account) we always make a point of hitting up a Chipotle joint whenever we get the chance.
Chipotle Mexican Grills are a quick-service chain restaurants, so we’ve found most locations in the USA, specifically (Canada was another story – see here) are quite standard and consistent in quality, service and price. The industrial-chic Mexican chain’s tacos and burritos are custom-made with fresh ingredients. Organic produce and naturally-raised meats are used whenever possible, so you can actually feel good about eating at Chipotle.
Usually, I order a Barbacoa Burrito Bowl ($8.27) – It’s less messy than a standard burrito, and you can ask for loads of additional fresh toppings like lettuce, cheese, sour cream, corn and tomato salsas, etc. This particular New York City location (Broadway between Beaver & Stone) is clean and efficient. However, watch out during weekday lunch hours – Financial District workers flock here in masses.
