You must be thinking, “wow this couple travels and eats out a lot!”. You’re correct, we do 😉 And one of our favourite places to eat in San Diego, is El Pescador Fish Market & Restaurant. Located in the lovely community of La Jolla, El Pescador has been serving the freshest seafood since 1974.
Since this establishment is also a fish market, the seafood really is exceptionally fresh. Perfectly char-grilled and sauteed varieties of seasonal shrimp, salmon, cod, and tuna (just to name a few) are served in salads, sandwiches or plates. Delicious fish tacos, hearty seafood soup & chowders are also available on their restaurant menu.
Mexican Jumbo White Shrimp Plate ($16.95) - fresh char-grilled jumbo prawns served with a choice of lemon butter or olive oil & garlic. This epic plate was served with a fresh green salad, homemade salad dressing, and steamed fluffy white rice. We added a creamy ripe avocado for $1.00 extra. The creamiest, most perfectly ripe avocado I’ve ever had. Although the photo’s a little deceiving since the amount avocado was huge, the prawns were massive. Unreal. Really, it was. Like one of those dishes you’d request to feast on as your last meal.
The next time you’re in La Jolla, run (don’t walk) directly to El Pescador 🙂
