Sprout Vegan Bakery

Based in Langley, BC, Ashley McLean founded Sprout, a vegan bakery that provides delectable desserts throughout the Lower Mainland. Sprout enthusiastically provides delicious treats (some are even gluten-free, like her cruelty-free cheesecakes), using ethically responsible, natural ingredients.

“At Sprout we are passionate about using natural ingredients; our goal is to use the simplest and purest ingredients possible, we believe this produces the ability to taste the natural flavours of our desserts. We use GMO-free soy and aim to utilize as many organic ingredients as possible. Overall our desserts are 100% vegan and do not contain any animal products including, dairy, eggs, honey or refined sugars.”

You don’t need to be vegan to benefit from Sprout’s delectable goodies, people with allergies to milk or eggs will also find these tasty treats compatible with their sensitivities.

Being ethical doesn’t just stop at baked goods: The packaging that Sprout utilizes is made from post consumer recycled materials, and is the only packaging endorsed by the Green Restaurant Association.

On its website, Sprout offers up a variety of desserts for order, such as strawberry ice cream cake, pumpkin pie cheesecake, carob mint mini cheesecake, and chocolate and peanut butter streusel bars. Ashley also creates beautiful custom cakes for birthdays, weddings, and other special events.

We discovered Sprout at Baker’s Market Vancouver, but Ashley also sells her baked goods at at festivals and trade shows, Granville Island Public Market, Bonchaz Bakery Café in Vancouver, and Karmavore Vegan Shop in New Westminster.
