Pinkberry in West Vancouver Review, Park Royal Mall

Canada’s first Pinkberry opened with its first day of operating hours on Friday, July 22nd, and Eating in Vancouver was there to experience history in the making. The night before from 5-9pm, Pinkberry offered free frozen yogurt to fans and also had a free concert by Justin Wilczynski and Cory Monteith from Bonnie Dune.

After checking out the RBC Canadian Open, a couple friends and I went over to Park Royal Mall to experience Pinkberry inside The Village. There was a sizeable line inside with eager patrons excited to get some Pinkberry. Once we got in line, more people got in line behind us and it almost stretched out the door.

The store looked exactly like its other locations in the USA, from the decorations to the floors. The staff was friendly, and super excited to work there which is great. They were handing out samples to people waiting in line, and let customers sample as many flavours as they wanted when ordering. Very cool.

I ordered a small coconut frozen yogurt (hey, the Five Guys Burgers and Fries a few stores down did us in!) with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and mochi as toppings. The coconut flavour was a subtle taste, which was nice since it didn’t overpower the original flavour of the frozen yogurt. The yogurt was actually frozen, and not a soft-frozen like some other places, which I think is pretty important. There’s nothing worse than eating melted frozen yogurt after paying!

At Pinkberry, you’re allowed unlimited toppings–up to what the cup can hold. So go nuts and try different combinations. Personally, I like my frozen yogurt with fruit instead of candy toppings, as it’s not only healthier but you get a nice bang for your buck with fresh fruit versus candy. The fruit here was fresher than anything I’ve seen before from other frozen yogurt shops.

If you’ve never experienced Pinkberry before, I suggest you make a trip over to West Vancouver’s Park Royal Mall to try it out. It blows away any of the local frozen yogurt chains in town. This is the real deal, folks. It’s definitely worth the drive! Here’s some important info below:
