When you’re craving a steak in Victoria, The Keg – legendary for consistency and value – is a pretty good place to go. Sure, it’s a chain restaurant, but because of this fact, it has standards. Therefore, you always know what to expect, and if your meal is not up to par, The Keg staff will do everything they can to make it right. Great service and a guaranteed solid meal is why we return.
Sweet Berry Mojito and extra spicy Keg Caesar
Keg Caesar ($6.95) – Crisp romaine and aged parmesan cheese in the Keg’s own creamy dressing.
Mmm, melting butter…
Keg Combination ($ 28.95) – Top Sirloin (8oz) naturally grilled medium rare (or with a teriyaki glaze) sirloin accompanied by a Grilled Black Tiger Shrimp. Served with a twice baked potato, asparagus and red bell peppers. Our only gripe was that it was a little too charred for our liking, but tasty nonetheless.
Mustard Salmon ($25.95) – Grilled salmon fillet with a honey dijon and whole grain mustard glaze. Served with veggies and mashed potatoes. The jury’s still out on whether this piece of fish was wild salmon or not. Our server told us it was, but there was no mention of it on the menu.
In additional to The Keg’s usual desserts, the restaurant also offers “Sweet Minis” for $2.95 each or 3 for $7.95. It’s a great option (and an awesome deal) if you’re only looking for a little treat instead of a decadent indulgence. We ordered the Fudge Brownie ($2.95) – Warm brownie with vanilla ice cream, topped with caramel syrup, hot fudge sauce and fresh whipped cream. Yum.
