Help Wanted: Want to write for us?

We’re hoping that if you’re reading our blog it’s because you love all things food.  You consider yourself a ‘foodie’ and enjoy dining out on a regular basis. We love eating in Vancouver as much as you do and we’re currently looking to find people to join us for writing on the blog. We need help reviewing restaurants around Vancouver and the lower mainland. If you want to join us, here’s what we’re looking for in new writers:

- Knowledgeable and passionate about food, wine and a wide array of cuisines.
- Would like to share your dining experiences through photos and written critiques. Do you think you have what it takes?
- Are able to contribute regularly, such as at least 1 restaurant review per week?
- Your writing doesn’t have to be award winning, but you should be able to write well. We don’t have enough editors to correct basic grammar and spelling so your writing should be polished.

The above is a summary of what we’re looking for in new contributors. Writers here are not paid. Your reward, we hope, is that you’ll get to write about your love of different cuisines, your experiences at restaurants you dine at, and ‘strut your stuff’ to the entire Vancouver Foodie community.

If you think you have what it takes, please contact us via the Contact Form. Tell us about yourself, why you think you’re suited for writing with us. Looking forward to hearing from you! :)

Choppers Cafe on Nanaimo at Broadway. Used to be located at 1st and Rupert. Food wasn't that great and the parking worse. In their new place for a couple of months now. Went there once with a friend – wasn't impressed with the speed of delivery after ordering. Thought it might be different after a few more weeks of settling in. Wrong again. Meals were slow in coming out – first were finished before the last came out to be served. Bills were not separate and everyone paid separately at the register. Waitress still complained that bill was short by $20 – They can't count and everyone threw in a toonie to even it up. I know that the bill was overpaid – I left a $3.00 tip when I paid my portion. My friend left almost $5 as did everyone else. They just lost 14 new customers and I would never recommend the place to anyone after this experience.

How disappointing! We’ve never been to Choppers Cafe, but based on your experience, the restaurant doesn’t sound like a great place :(
