I don’t know about you but I absolutely love Vietnamese cuisine. Eating a bowl of Pho on a cold day can definitely warm you up. The fresh ingredients that Vietnamese food is composed of makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
Today we’re going to review Pho Lan Vietnamese restaurant, located in Richmond, BC. Pho Lan has been a long time resident in Richmond right across the street from Richmond City Hall (No.3 road). The inside of Pho Lan is in desperate need of a makeover, but the food’s consistency and taste is what keeps bringing people back.
I’ve been visiting Pho Lan at least 1-2 times a month. I just can’t get enough of their Pho and other dishes. Today I had the opportunity to drop by and I treated myself to one of their tasty vermicelli noodle bowls. I had #33 on their menu: Your choice of Beef/Chicken/Pork BBQ skewers served with a massive spring roll, served on a bed of vermicelli noodles and some fish sauce on the side.
Here’s something most people don’t know. You can mix and match your BBQ meat combinations. Today I had beef and chicken, which as always was delicious. The meat is light seasoned and finished off with a touch of honey. You’ll be licking your lips after this one. The spring roll is one of the largest you’ll find in town. After dousing the fish sauce all over the fresh ingredients I like to drizzle a touch of hot sauce and hoisin sauce just to finish the bowl off. For $8.95, you’re in for a pretty decent sized meal!
The service at Pho Lan is very quick and too the point. No frills service and consistent, tasty food is quite the concept, huh? They do not take reservations and will fill up on weekends quickly.
Pho Lan is located in on the corner of No.3 Road and Granville. Free parking is available in the back. Cash only, so be prepared!
