Me-n-Ed’s Pizza Parlor (Abbotsford)

Me-n-Ed’s Pizza Parlor was our friends’ favourite regular pizza joint when they previously lived in the Abbotsford area. A while ago they took us to this location on Sumas Way to enjoy some fresh ‘n hearty pizza pies.

Me-n-Ed’s also has four other locations around the lower mainland. So what makes this pizza chain different? For starters, Me-n-Ed’s are family-owned restaurants. “Real pizza made with real love” – they claim. Why do they have such loyal customers? Perfectly crafted pizza, created with their signature made-from-scratch-dough, topped with quality fresh ingredients and a blend of six real cheeses. Hmm…sounds like they’re doing it right.

Although it’s a large and spacious restaurant, it still remains cozy with comfy booths and partitioned tables. We were quickly seated, served our drinks and perused the menu. The restaurant offers four sizes of pizza to choose from: Mini ($10.20), Small ($15.20), Medium ($21.90), and Large ($27.90).

Apparently we were famished that evening because we all decided on four pizzas and bread sticks to share. Mmm carb feast: Me-n-Ed’s Combo – Their namesake blend of ham, salami, capicollo, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, olives, onions, sweet pineapple, fresh tomato, Italian sausage and beef. Taco Pizza – Cheddar cheese, tomatoes, beef, fresh lettuce. Meat Lovers – The one all meat pizzas are measured by, with ham, salami, capicollo, pepperoni, beef and Italian sausage. Carnivores will approve. Godfather – A pizza you can’t refuse, with a blend of garlic, herb and tomato sauces, pepperoni, diced tomatoes, a generous hit of Parmesan and Romano cheeses, topped with basil and oregano. Ed’s Bread ($4.45) – Soft and chewy bread sticks coated with garlic, Italian herbs and Parmesan and Romano cheeses. Served fresh from the oven with a choice of ranch or Ed’s own tomato sauce for dipping (we ordered both sauces, cause carbs are better saucier). We enjoyed all of our fresh, tasty, and delicious pizzas, and experienced good service in a cozy casual environment.

Overall, Me-n-Ed’s is a great pizza joint, especially for families and groups. It’s “Pizza You Remember”. FYI: Free delivery after 11:30am, daily. They now offer gluten free pizza (one size only: 10.5” pizza crust) for all those celiacs out there, or non-wheat fanatics.
