Hello Devante! I am one of the owners of Mr. Shawarma in Kitsilano. I just wanted to take the time to thank you for your comments and feedback regarding your experience at Mr. Shawarma. On behalf of all the staff at Mr. Shawarma, we feel very happy and proud to know that you and your guests had a wonderful experience at Mr. Shawarma, which is exactly what we value and strive to deliver to all our customers…to offer the best food and best service. I very much appreciate how you have taken the time to put together your comments on our cafe and your comparison to authentic Middle Eastern cafe in Dubai, UAE and Egypt, Jordan, etc. Our vision for the restaurant/cafe is to bring to our Canadian customers the most delicious traditional foods of the Mediterran and Middle East with a twist of modern North America culinary magic….creating a modern style restaurant for the new generation. I also agree with your comments on the Baklava, unfortunately when you came to the restaurant we were serving Baklava that we did not bake in our kitchen, the Baklava you tasted that day based on the pictures was from a different baker who we decided to try to support the community. However, since your feedback as one of our customers is so valued and important to us, we are going to start baking our own home-made Baklava again and discontinue that supplier. Please when you get a chance come visit our restaurant again and I would like you to taste our own home-made Baklava, and I assure you that you will say that our own home-made Baklava is the best you have ever tasted, in fact, our customers who have tried our own home-made Baklava since our opening have told us that our Baklava is the best they have ever tasted and continue to ask us for it in the restaurant. Thank you again Devante for all your feedback and taking the time to review our restaurant, your efforts set a great example for the community! All the best to you!
