Pekoe Tea Lounge Review

by Taya on May 6th, 2010

We had plans to meet friends at Steeps Tea House on Broadway & Laurel, but upon arrival we discovered that it is now called Pekoe Tea Lounge!

Pekoe isn’t the kind of place to work on your Macbook. It’s a cosy and comfy tea house to relax over great conversation and flavorful, steeped loose leaf teas. Warm color schemes and earthy finishings make for a calming atmosphere to ‘linger’ over tea infused with cranberries.

You can pick your tea from neatly stacked tins towards the back of the lounge.  The server told us to feel free to open them up and smell their aromas before we made our choice.

Select from a collection of Green, Rooibos, Herbal, Black, Oolong, Yerba mate, Matcha, White, and all infused combinations in between.

Choose from an array of cups and saucers provided on a buffet against the wall, including flowery porcelain cups, colorful mugs, thick glasses, or handle free tea cups.

Their teas are fragrant, smooth and don’t have that acidic after taste that some lower quality teas leave behind.  Bored of the myriad of coffee houses in this city? Then we would definitely recommend Pekoe Tea Lounge to those who want to try something different.
