Orange Tree is a self-serve frozen yogurt shop located in Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii. Orange Tree is slightly different from Pinkberry, Red Mango or Yogen Fruz because you can determine how little or much you want from multiple flavors and pick your choice of a variety toppings. Instead of being charged per container size, your dessert is charged by weight. Depending on how you look at it, this can be a blessing or a curse because its easy add too much to your bowl!
Tropical flavors like taro, coconut, lychee and pineapple are available, as well as vanilla based frozen yogurt selections like cheesecake, chocolate, coffee, cookies & cream, white chocolate, and special for the holidays, eggnog.
When you feel that you have perfected your froyo, take your bowl to the counter and the cashier will weigh your frozen yogurt at 55 cents per ounce. It’s not the cheapest frozen yogurt, but this is Hawaii and let’s face it, most things are expensive in this state!
Orange Tree frozen yogurt is lovely because it’s is slightly tart and not overly sweet. We frequented Orange Tree on a few occasions during our stay on the Big Island. When it’s hot and sunny and you’ve spent the day at the beach, frozen yogurt is the perfect refreshing treat to cool off with!
