Did you know that Starbucks offers a cup size bigger than a Venti? It’s called “Trenta”. And just how big is Starbucks’ Trenta size? Proportionally not to scale, the following pic will give you an idea of its humongous size:

The Trenta, available only for iced drinks, was launched in US Starbucks earlier this year. The newest addition to the Starbucks lineup is 325mL larger than Starbucks’ previous largest size, the Venti. At 916 mL, the Trenta is actually larger than the average capacity of the adult human stomach (900mL):

Want more proof that Trenta is indeed ginormous? Yeah, it fits an entire bottle of wine:

Another issue is that Starbucks clearly failed Italian 101 class when choosing to name the cup Trenta. Though the word “trenta” means “thirty” in Italian, Starbucks’ Trenta is 31oz. Maybe the Big Cheese had a bit too much vino when he chose the name – because by the end of 2012, Starbucks will start selling beer and wine, having already successfully tested outlets in Washington state and Oregon. Yes, local pubs will soon be getting a run for their money from “Barbucks”.
“We’re really trying to expand the evening part. Customers have told us they want to be able to come in and have coffee, or a glass of wine.” “They want to sit and relax, and maybe one person wants to have coffee and the other wants beer or wine,” he added. “People also can go out after work without having to go to a bar, and people who are underage can go and have a cup of coffee instead.”
Next Media Animation, famous for their reenactment of Tiger Woods’ troubles, created a video poking fun at Trenta and “Barbucks”:
