Moka House Shoal Point Review (Victoria, BC)

When we lived in Victoria, we’d often head over to Cook Street Village to meet friends at the Moka House. Incidentally, the coffee shop was actually founded by a friend from high school’s parents. Now a franchised company, Moka House has seven locations around Victoria and the lower mainland.

During our recent trip to Vancouver Island, seen here and here, we stopped by Moka House’s Shoal Point location. The Shoal Point development is one of Victoria’s landmark buildings and stands at the opening of the beautiful Inner Harbour. Here is the view from this lovely coffee shop at Fisherman’s Warf:

With plenty of comfy chairs and ample outdoor seating, Moka House also provides a warm and inviting gas fireplace to lounge beside with your hot caffeinated beverage.

We ordered a couple regular-sized Americanos ($2.30 each) and cozied up to the fire. Smooth and creamy, the roast surpassed any Starbucks espresso.

Apart from organic coffee and tea, they also offer blended fruit smoothies and make a mean moka chiller drink. Food items offered on their menu include grilled paninis, fresh hot soup, daily sandwiches, and sweet baked goods. We’ll most certainly check out their other six locations! What’s your favourite Moka House location in Victoria or on the lower mainland?
