This will be short review as I only have one food pic for this post. However, keeping on the topic of chain restaurants I wanted to mention something briefly Boston Pizza’s Metrotown location in Burnaby.
Our server seemed quite indifferent to her job of actually serving us. She asked how we were enjoying our meals in passing, without even stopping to hear our answers. In between serving us and the other tables, she kept going back, near the kitchen to hang out and chat loudly with the other employees. Honestly though, we didn’t mind much since we were there to catch up with some friends we hadn’t seen in ages. She served our food and refilled our drinks in a timely manner and that’s all we really expected.
The food was really good. Probably the best Boston Cheesesteak I’ve ever had…at a Boston Pizza anyway.
Boston Cheesesteak ($12.49) – Thinly sliced roast beef smothered with onions, green peppers, fresh mushrooms, cheddar and pizza mozzarella baked on a French-style bun. “Jus” and hot ‘n crispy fries on the side. The French-style bun was so fresh, it tasted like it had been baked that day. Sometimes you really need the ‘au-jus’ because the sandwich is so dry and hard. Not this time. The sandwich was super soft.
Both Gary and I ordered Boston Cheesesteaks and our friends had Caesar salad and pizza. Sorry no pics! Anyway, if you’re shopping at Metrotown and feel like pizza or sandwiches, then this Boston Pizza’s a pretty decent choice.
