Brunch à la Galerie Review

Autumn Brook served up brunch on the weekends inside of their art gallery, but it was only a small window of time that we could dine: Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00am to 2:30pm. Located on West 4th, at the foot of South Granville it was a “fine casual” setting and a rather unique and relaxing experience dining surrounded by pieces of art. After our meal, we strolled through the space admiring all the sculptures and canvas work.

Prices were around $11-12 per dish, and menu choices were limited but included French Toast, Eggs Benny, and continental items. Eggs Benedict selections had organic eggs and natural, no preservative meats, and they were served with green salads, sliced fresh fruit, and roasted potatoes. I ordered the French Toast (of course!), served with strawberry compote and maple syrup. I would have enjoyed it more if it had included freshly whipped cream, but sadly they didn’t have any available. Service was friendly and professional, although the kitchen was a tad slow to get our orders out. The length of time didn’t bother us too much since the experience was meant to be savoured. We actually dined here quite a while ago, but I thought I should blog about it before it’s too late – I’ve heard rumors that the place is going to close down, or might have already. Have you been to Brunch à la Galerie?
